This flagship project is critical because it focuses on training local Lebanese alongside Syrian refugees in conservation stonemasonry. It is just as important to invest in people as it is into the buildings themselves – because without those skills and respect for tradition there will be no one to look after everyday heritage which plays such an important role in all our lives.”
